Parrot Mini Drone Jumping Sumo – A Wi-Fi Two-Wheeled Jumping Camera Drone

Parrot Mini Drone Jumping Sumo in White (Also available in Black and Khaki) looks another type of drone from Parrot.

Having just concluded Drone Week here at Toys Bulletin, we decided to keep the fun rolling with another new and imaginative robotic toy in the same realm.  Parrot is a major player in the drone space, and we set out to test their Jumping Sumo mini drone.

The Jumping Sumo first hit our radar in this spectacular video from YouTube star Devin Supertramp. Even though the Jumping Sumo is technically called a “Drone” this one doesn’t fly through the air. Instead it’s the one seen in the video jumping off tables and chasing the star of the video through the house on the floor via two wheels while keeping an eye on all the action with its Wi-Fi connected camera eye.

Swift Stream Z-10 – A Fully Featured Camera Drone reviews the fourth of four drones from Swift Stream.

This is the final chapter of our drone week coverage. So far this week, we covered the entry level Z-4 ($30), the slightly more expensive, but still very affordable Z-6 ($40) and the Z-9 ($80), which was double the size of the Z-6 and added a Wi-Fi camera.

Swift Stream z-10 1Today is the big daddy, the biggest and best of the drones we will be reviewing – the Z-10. The price on the Z-10 is around $130 and it is much bigger than the others coming in at approximately 26” x 26”. We loved the functionality that comes with this model, but let’s start with a few of the smaller details.

Swift Stream Z-9 – A Budget Priced Camera Drone reviews the third of four drones from Swift Stream.

This is drone week at Toys Bulletin, and so far we have reviewed a couple of lower priced models from Swift Stream, including the Z-4 ($30) and the Z-6 ($40). What we have found is that you can get an impressive drone experience for a rather low price, something that was unheard of just a few years ago.

swift stream z-9 2Today, we are going to move up to the Swift Stream Z-9. This model is approximately twice as large as the Z-6 coming in around 12.4” x 12.4” and the price jumps up to $80. But the Z-9 takes us into a whole new class of drone, and like the other products we have reviewed so far, the functionality, features, construction and controllability are all top notch, especially when you consider that we are still under $100.

The Z-6 that we are going to review today is a small step up in terms of price ($40), but it is bigger measuring 5 ½” x 5 ½ ” and offers a few new features that are worth noting.

“Drone Week” Kicks Off With a Look at the Swift Stream Mini Z-4 Drone

Swift Stream z-4 reviews the first of four drones from Swift Stream.

This week we are going to take a look at a line of surprisingly affordable and highly functional drones from Swift Stream. We are going to focus on four models, at all ends of the spectrum, in what we will call the first ever “Toys Bulletin Drone Week.”

Drones seem to be all the rage these days, and I remember when only a few years ago, you would be lucky to find one under $1000. Everything available was a commercial grade pro video drone. But the technology evolved quickly to meet the surge in demand, and now you can find small, recreational drones starting as low as $30 like the Swift Stream Z-4 that we are reviewing today.

John Deere Radio Control: Monster Treads

Monster Treads Gator looks at long range radio control vehicle from Ertl and Tomy International, Inc.

When you hear the name John Deere, you immediately think of quality, and this new John Deere radio control gator certainly lives up to that reputation. First of all, a John Deere gator is a small utility vehicle that is nearly unstoppable on most every imaginable terrain, and the “Monster Treads Gator” is a perfect replica of the real thing. It measures 8″L x 8″W x 6″H, and is suggested for ages 6 years old and up. Of course, any radio control vehicle will require some batteries for power, and the “Monster Treads Gator” is no exception, as six AA batteries are needed for the gator and one 9 volt for the transmitter. The vehicle features 4 huge rubber tires that do need to be inflated to get the most out of the experience. An inflating needle and tire gauge are included, but the buyer will have to provide a hand pump to get the gator ready for fun.

Posted in Remote Control, Vehicles Update – New Site and Content Migration

cropped-cropped-Toys1.gifThis site has been up and running for more than four years, and we have been asked by a few people why we have never updated the design. The short answer is that the site worked, and we’ve learned before that if something works online, don’t mess with it. But the time has finally come for a refresher, a new design and layout that provides a host of benefits for readers.

First of all this new site will load much faster. The previous site was code heavy and a bit of a patch work Frankenstein job that accumulated a lot of excess size over the years. This new site is optimized to run much faster.

Our List of The Best Zombie Products Available – Toys, Games, Books and a Few Surprises takes a look at some of the best Zombie products available.

There is little doubt that one of the most popular media frenzies of the past several years revolves around a single word, that being Zombies. Quite frankly, they are everywhere. The public’s initial infatuation with Zombies may have begun with the release of the classic horror film, “Night of the Living Dead” in 1968. But more recently, the popular TV shows “The Walking Dead” and to a lesser degree, the Sundance Channel release of “The Returned” have continued to fuel the Zombie fires. Add to this the latest theatrical releases, including Brad Pitt’s “World War Z,” the Zombie comedy “Warm Bodies,” and even an animation hit, “ParaNormal,” and you have some idea what kids and even adults are putting on their Christmas lists in 2013. They want something related to Zombies.

The staff at Toys Bulletin decided to put their heads together and create a list of some of the best and craziest Zombie items for 2013. We are not going to review these items, although we will admit to having purchased many of them as gifts for friends, family or ourselves. There are some creepy products out there, but we kept our list a bit more “family friendly.” Even so, many of our selections may not be appropriate for everyone. Consider the list a general guide to the world of Zombie merchandise.

The format will be simple. We will provide a simple list (in no particular order), a brief description of each item, an approximate price, an age recommendation and, of course, a mandatory photo. All of the items can be found by performing a simple search on the Internet, and in many cases, is one of the best sources. You will laugh at some of the products, and be startled with others. In any case, have a good time. Here we go…
