Red Toolbox: Real Kids’ Tools and Dump Truck Kit

REd box tool kit

ToysBulletin.com uses an introductory set of tools geared for kids to build a Dump Truck.

I remember when we first saw the Red Toolbox line of building sets from Reeves International at Toy Fair, and my immediate reaction was “someone finally got it.”  As a parent of three, including two young boys, I’ve always tried to involve my kids in “around-the-house” projects so they can understand how things work, and more importantly, begin to realize the basic concepts around how to fix them.

ToysBulletin.com Update – New Site and Content Migration

cropped-cropped-Toys1.gifThis site has been up and running for more than four years, and we have been asked by a few people why we have never updated the design. But the time has finally come for a refresher, a new design and layout that provides a host of benefits for readers.

Building Set Review: The Trebuchette – Snap it Together & Launch the Balls

TheTrebuchette4ToysBulletin.com reviews a wooden building set from E&M Labs.

Before we get started with this review, we should make sure everyone knows what exactly is a “Trebuchette?”  The word is actually taken from the French word “trebuchet,” which was a type of catapult used in the Middle Ages.  It employed a unique counterweight system that allowed the “trebuchet” to hurl projectiles held in a sling and sometimes weighing over 300 pounds at an enemy.

E&M Labs has created a line of “Siege Toys,” including “The Trebuchette” that recreates some of these famous weapons from long ago.  “The Trebuchette” is a step up from a typical Lego building set, and it, along with all of the “Siege Toys,” can be built without any tools or glue of any kind.  They simply snap together.
