ToysBulletin.com provides some updates to “Castle Combat” from KidRealm.
“Castle Combat” is basically a 21st century version of the age old game of War. But now the players have their own set of cards, each with their own set of abilities, creating surprises at every turn. The game uses battle dice as well to keep things even more interesting. For more specific details about the game, check out our original review of the “Castle Combat” card game. Read it now from 13 April 2015.
“Castle Combat” continues to evolve and updates seem to be coming out almost every month. Although the tournament army building rules suggest a 16 card deck for each player, there is also a lot of interest in the new 12 card decks, especially for beginners, or those who might want an even faster challenge. These decks include 4 Legendary figures, 2 Rare figures and 6 Common figures, and the new 12 deck armies can be either good guys or bad guys.
The creators of “Castle Combat” have also added a new type of card to the battles, “Cosmic Combat” cards. These cards represent alien species, and they can be included with a player’s “Combat Castle” deck. They are neither good or bad, so they can be used in all competing decks. Currently, the “Cosmic Combat” cards are being placed randomly in “Castle Combat” booster decks.
Kids as young as 5 years old can enjoy “Castle Combat,” and it moves so fast, you can play multiple games in just an hour or so. Our staff is still playing the game; I cannot seem to make them stop. We especially enjoy the colorful designs and names given to the ever-growing list of characters. A “Castle Combat” starter set can be purchased for just $9.95 and booster packs are only $3.00. Check out all of the details at the Castle Combat website.
